Joey Fulkerson, Greg Haughy, Chris McAfee, and Bill Meyers, also known as the Nothin But Trouble Blues Band, had a date in Memphis to compete for the National title of best blues band in America. They got this honor by beating out numerous bands at the Pittsburg Regionals. They had a great time and got lots of exposure. Covered Bridge Plays Delaware Veterans
Home in Milford De
On Sept 26th Joey & Kevin played the Delaware Veterans
 home
on a beautiful Saturday morning. They invited
 Dr. Eric Hale
to play banjo as they did the civil war set.
Apparently the
CD "New Musical Stories of the American Civil War' is
 played at the home regularly.
"We felt very honored to play for the veterans" said Kevin.
"It was a nice day and they seemed to enjoy the music".
The event had a car show also  which added to
 the festivities.
Covered Bridge hopes to entertain the veterans
 again in the future.

Covered Bridge dodges the rain and improvises at Chautauqua Event 2009.
Kevin and Joey began their concert at
 the Lewes Hsitorical Society's annual
 Chautauqua event at 6pm.
By 6:15 mother natures wrath of thunderstorms
brought the crowd and the musicians inside.
After deciding that waiting out the storm
was not an option, the concert continued upstairs
inside the Zwaanendael museum for a packed house.
With banjo help from their quest musician
Dr. Eric Hale, Kevin and Joey finished the concert
just like the old days, basic instruments in front
a crowd inside a small room.
"just like it was done back in the 1800's, said Joey
to the crowd. Interestingly the upstairs room
in the museum had good acoustics and the
music resonated well off the old walls.  After finishing
the concert upstairs the event coordinator informed
Kevin that about 15  people could not get upsatirs
because it was over crowded and wanted to know if
Covered Bridge could play for them.  In a show of pure minstrel spirit,
Covered Bridge gave an improvised concert to
this small group capped off by a fun rendition
of Chubby Checker's "The Twist", led by Joey.
By all accounts it was a fun night, even if mother
nature tried to put a damper on it.

Great Time had by all at the annual Covered Bridge spring
concert 2009
Over 80 people joined Kevin and Joey inside the
covered bridge for a music show to benefit
the Food Pantry. The event collected over $1400 of
canned goods to help with the homeless and needy.
The concert opened with Kyle Offidani doing amazing
fingerstyle guitar. Kyle is a 22 year old up and
 coming guitarist
with amazing talent. I know we will be seeing him play
around the region a lot over the next couple of years.
Kyle's goal is to be a  full time performing artist.
Kevin & Joey followed and gave the audience 2 hours
of music from both their albums, with an added
feature of video. By all accounts everyone had a great time.
Thanks to all who came out and brought canned goods.

Joey & Kevin's latest album release:
"Forget the Real World"
This is a country rock album full of up-tempo songs with
a few ballads thrown in. Joey and Kevin have
special musical guests Billy Meyers and
Julianne Nemith. Billy sat in for drums and some
backing vocals. Julianne Nemith ( Kevin's daughter)
sang the hauntingly angel voice on the
 track "Angels on Harmony Road".

Joey to release solo project in Feb 2010
If you like fingerstyle guitar , this will be the record for
 you.
Joey is recording a all instrumental album with
15 original stunning peices of music. Joey is playing
all the instruments and listeners will enjoy the easy
  style and unique instrumentation.
Recorded at Digital Street Studio and produced by
 Joey and Kevin.

Civil War album still gaining momentum:
ITunes reported over 290 downloads of the music
from "New Musical Stories of the American Civil War" as of Nov 2009.

Contribution Update
Proceeds from  the voluntary contributions people sent in on the civil war album allowed Covered Bridge to give $400 to Father Thomas Hanley. Fr. Hanley was Dover's man of the year in 2004. Fr. Hanley suffered a stroke a few years back and the family who has taken in Fr. Hanley put out a request for dontations to offset medical and re-hab costs.

Canned goods totalling roughly $1400 were donated by the guests at the annual Covered Bridge music concert on May 22 2009. The canned goods filled up the back of a pick up truck and were delivered to the Food Pantry the next day.
